First Day of Fall: What Season Is Your Leadership In?

The first day of fall always makes me think about seasons.

Farmers call this harvest time. Months of planting, tending, and waiting finally show results.

What’s been growing beneath the surface becomes visible.

Leadership works in seasons too.

Sometimes you’re planting, setting vision, shaping strategy, and investing in people before you see the results.

Sometimes you’re pruning, letting go of old habits, roles, or even team dynamics that no longer serve your goals.

And sometimes, like fall, you’re harvesting, reaping the benefits of the groundwork you’ve laid, and recognizing the growth that’s taken shape in yourself and your team.

Too often, leaders only focus on what’s next.

But fall invites us to pause and ask:

What season am I in right now?

What’s ready for harvest in my leadership?

And what groundwork am I laying for the season ahead?

Because here’s the truth: when you recognize your season, you lead with more clarity and confidence. You stop pushing against the natural rhythm of growth and start aligning with it.

This fall, take time to notice what’s ripening in your leadership and where you’re being called to prepare for what’s next.

If you want to explore how to align your leadership with the right season for growth for yourself and your organization, I’d love to connect.
